Daily Tajweed Classes in the Masjid - "Just 20 minutes"
The importance of reciting the Qur'an with eloquence is emphasised in the Qur'an and hadith:
"And recite the Qur'an with Tarteel (in a slow pleasant tone and style)." (73:4)
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has said, 'Indeed Allah desires that the Qur'an be recited in the manner it was revealed.'
When asked about the meaning of Tarteel, Ali (Radhiallaahu Anhu) replied, 'It means that the Qur'an should be recited with Tajweed and with due observance to the rules of Waqf (pausing or stopping at the end of the verse).'
To help us with correct pronunciation and taking due care with our reading of the Qur'an, UKIM has organised daily Tajweed classes, lead by our accomplished Hafiz and Qari, Maulana Abdul Hameed. The classes take place after Maghrib prayer for 20 minutes, Monday to Friday. The classes are free of charge and have attracted much interest.
If you would like to take part, just come along and join in - remember its after Maghrib prayer, week days.
